THE FAULTER EGO
A woman gets into a car. As she is about to put the key in the ignition, an unsettling thought comes into her head: “I’m such an eejit, I’ll probably crash.” With a sigh, she gets out and walks.

DEFINITION: The Faulter Ego is named after the tendency to find fault – with others, with life but most especially with ourselves. It is the inner critic run amok.
DISAPPOINTER MODE: undue pessimism, negativity and anxiety.
MOTTO: ‘Always look on the sh*te side of life.’
APPOINTER MODE: critical intelligence, healthy scepticism, modesty, eyes-open realism.
